Colorado’s Congressional delegation has ideas to keep gov’t workers afloat

Senator Cory Gardner is writing a bill to pay federal workers during the ongoing shutdown. The bill will be introduced today, appropriating just enough money to meet the federal payroll, not enough to restart government operations. It’s not clear if Gardner’s bill would get a vote. Meanwhile, in the House, Rep. Ed Perlmutter is working on a bill to allow federal employees to withdraw money from their retirement accounts without paying a penalty. Both the House and Senate will vote on a series of bills today, but none are likely to be approved.
