A 20 year old Loveland man accused of accidentally shooting his friend in 2018 has accepted a plea deal. Gabriel Ventura pleaded guilty to manslaughter this week (Wednesday) for the shooting death of 17-year-old Aric Whaley, who pulled out a shotgun to show his friends when it inadvertently discharged while Ventura was holding it. At his sentencing March 4, a judge will decide whether Ventura will be sent to jail or the youthful offender system. He was 18 at the time of the shooting, according to multiple online media reports.
