Denver-based PDC Energy reached a $1.7 billion deal to merge with Weld County SRC Energy Tuesday. According to a news release, the deal will make PDC Energy the second largest oil and gas producer in the Denver-Julesburg Basin -which includes Weld County. With the merger some jobs may be eliminated, but a spokesman said there should be “minimal” layoffs in the Greeley area.
