COVID19 hits Weld County Jail

COVID19 has hit the Weld County Jail. greeleytribune.com reports an inmate and four employees have tested positive for COVID-19, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday morning. About five other employees were put on a 10-day isolation order after showing symptoms, but they were not tested. The investigation into how the inmate contracted COVID-19 is ongoing.
MEANWHILE…
The jail is going on full lock down so that groups of inmates can be better monitored for a complete 14-day observation. Since March 10, jail staff have been conducting monitoring of all newly-arrested inmates for three to five days before being placed into a housing unit.
