Polis condemns violence at Denver demonstration of police involved death of unarmed black man

Governor Polis condemned violence at a Denver demonstration against the police involved death of an unarmed black man. Hundreds of people showed up at the Capitol last night to protest after George Floyd died Monday while a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck as Floyd pleaded he couldn’t breathe. The governor said he was shocked to learn a motorist tried to hit a protester with a car, similar to how a peaceful demonstrator was run down and killed by a white supremacist in NC in 2017. Four officers involved in the death of Floyd have been fired.
