A bill backed by Colorado Senator Cory Gardner designating 988 as a national mental health crisis hotline number is being passed through committee. The Senate Committee on Commerce Science and Transportation gave it the green light yesterday. Gardner says it would make the number easy to remember for those dealing with a mental health crisis such as suicidal thoughts. The measure has bipartisan support.
