Bears Drop Game Against Lumberjacks

Northern Colorado women’s basketball showed improvement in their second game against Northern Arizona, but could not quite get over the hump to get the win. UNC dropped the game to NAU, 71-60 on Thursday night.

The Bears finished with a 35.4 shooting percentage in the game, while NAU had a 36.5 percent shooting night. Alisha Davis led UNC with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and Alexis Chapman had 15 of her own on 5-of-19 shooting. The Lumberjacks, Jacey Bailey scored a game high 24 points.

UNC were out of the gate fast in the first quarter, shooting 58.8 percent from the floor and scoring 28 points. Davis scored 12 of her 16 points in the quarter and was a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals. The Bears defense held NAU to 22.7 percent shooting. The hot start gave UNC a 12-point lead after the first 10 minutes.
