Rockies sign fourth-round pick Case Williams

DENVER — Right-handed pitcher Case Williams officially is looking to become the next Colorado pitcher to call Coors Field home.

The Rockies and Williams, the club’s fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft (110th overall), agreed to terms on Wednesday in Denver.

Now Williams, out of Douglas County High School in Colorado, will attempt to follow some big footsteps. Lefty Kyle Freeland, who prepped at Denver’s Thomas Jefferson High before pitching at the University of Evansville, is a key member of the Rockies’ current staff.
