Bird flu is affecting more than just birds in Colorado. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials said four dead skunks in Larimer County recently tested positive for the highly pathogenic avian influenza, according to the Coloradoan. The strain has killed countless chickens, waterfowl and raptors in what officials are calling one of the deadliest outbreaks in years. The bird flu was first detected in wild geese in March of last year. CPW officials said the transmission from birds to other mammals was always suspected, but they’re uncertain what kind of impacts could follow. At this time, they say transmission from birds to other mammals is still low. Get details at https://www.the Ft. Collins Coloradoan/
