Peyton man sentenced to prison time for role in Capitol riot

A Colorado man accused of assaulting police officers during the Capitol riot gets less than three years in prison. Thomas Hamner of Peyton was sentenced to 30 months behind bars after pleading guilty to a felony charge of interfering with law enforcement during a civil disorder in May. Video footage apparently shows Hamner fighting with Capitol Police and DC officers, engaging in tug-of-war with a bike rack that was being used as a barricade. Hamner was also ordered to pay pay $2,000 restitution. He was the 11th Coloradoan arrested in connection with the insurrection on January 6th of last year.
